The future looks bright for those looking to get a great TV in 2023 at a substantial discount. Although a fresh slate of new models was announced at CES 2023, it may take a while for many of them to arrive, and even longer before they receive a discount. You don’t have to wait until later this year to get a great deal on a mid-range or high-end TV from Sony, LG, TCL, or Samsung, though, as many models of last year’s flagship models are currently on sale. for hundreds of dollars less than its original list price.
Right now, there are a number of discount 4K TVs to choose from, spanning a wide variety of price points, size configurations, and feature sets. Whether you want a secondary TV for the bedroom or a high-end OLED built for a theater-like experience, we’ve curated the best TV deals in four common categories.

TCL 6 series
The TCL 6-Series R646 model has a QLED Mini LED panel, supports HDR10 Plus and 4K 120Hz gaming via HDMI 2.1, as well as hands-free voice commands from the Google Assistant and the Google TV interface that offers the top streaming apps. It’s a good choice if you’re looking to balance price and performance, and the 55-inch model is currently on sale at Best Buy for $649.99 ($50 off), which is the best price yet on the popular Series 6 model. However, you could also spend $50 more for an additional 10-inch screen, since the 65-inch model sells for only $699.99 at Best Buy. Read our Google TV review of the TCL 6 series.
LG UP7300PUC
LG’s UP7300PUC doesn’t have a memorable name, but the 75-inch 4K LED TV offers a lot for your money. We haven’t personally tested this model, but its features and size are impressive for $599.99, its current price at Best Buy. It has two HDMI inputs (one of which is eARC), an optical audio port, and an ethernet port. It also comes with LG’s webOS software built-in, giving you access to all the major streaming apps, plus many more. It’s easy to find other 60Hz smart 4K TVs on sale, but their other impressive aspects, namely their size and price, aren’t as common.
sony x80j
Sony’s 55-inch X80J TV, like the others before it, has Google TV software built-in, so you won’t need to buy additional streaming boxes like an Apple TV or Chromecast. The LED panel also supports HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision HDR and has four HDMI ports (one of which is HDMI ARC). It’s a relatively straightforward affair, but it seems like a good deal that’s currently available at Walmart, where you can buy the 55-inch model for $598 instead of $799.99.
The 65-inch X75K with the Google TV interface is also on sale at Best Buy for $649.99 and offers very little difference, as far as I can tell. It has three HDMI ports instead of four, but if you want a bigger TV for your money, it might be a good option.

TCL 4 series (Google TV model)
Like its predecessor, TCL’s latest Series 4 remains one of the most affordable options on the market. However, the 2022 model swaps the built-in Roku interface found in the previous model for the Google TV platform, and thus offers built-in support for the Google Assistant (via the included remote) and content recommendations. more personalized. At the same time, the LED TV remains compatible with HDR10, all major streaming apps, and a standard 60Hz refresh rate.
It’s a pretty basic TV when it comes to functionality, but Amazon and Best Buy are currently offering it in various configurations at a deep discount. Right now, for example, you can pick up the 55-inch model at Best Buy for $319.99, which is about $180 off MSRP and $20 off the TV’s best price yet.
Amazon Fire TV Omni QLED
Amazon’s latest version of the Fire TV Omni launched in late 2022, and we’re already seeing some hefty discounts. It debuted at $799.99, but the The 65-inch model currently sells for $549.99 on Amazon. We haven’t tested the new QLED model yet, but it seems to be based on the last generation model with a better design. It supports Dolby Vision IQ for HDR, allowing it to adjust based on the amount of ambient light, along with the same hands-free Alexa benefits as the previous model and local dimming for more realistic lighting in scenes. My colleague Chris Welch has all the main details in his announcement post.

The best deals on 4K TVs for PS5 and Xbox Series X
Sony’s PS5 and Microsoft’s Xbox Series X can play 4K games with HDR at up to 120 frames per second. So naturally, if you don’t have a TV that takes full advantage of your console, it might be time to upgrade to one of the models below. Keep in mind that for the best experience, you’ll want an HDMI 2.1-compatible TV.
LG C2 OLED
If you are looking for an impressive TV, we recommend that you pay attention to the 2022 C2 model from LG. 4K TVs tout support for Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync variable refresh rate technology, along with a 120Hz refresh rate and low input lag. They also feature a settings panel dubbed “Game Optimizer,” which conveniently brings together a host of gaming-focused settings (refresh rate, latency, etc.) for faster access.
We recommend the C1, last year’s model, if you can find an especially big discount. But the price is coming down for the C2, which we like because it weighs less and is available in a 42-inch variant (that costs about $1,000 these days, which is sadly more expensive than its lowest price of $800). The C2 also offers a few extra features, such as a brighter “Evo” panel, the ability to log into different user profiles, and a new “darkroom” setting that’s designed to reduce eye strain. See what our reviewer Chris Welch has to say (spoiler: lots of good stuff).
The 48-inch LG C2 costs around $1,049.99 per month. Best Buy, AmazonY B&H Photowhile the 55-inch is $1,399.99 per Best Buy. Most retailers have the same deals on this model.
As for another OLED model: The Vizio’s 55-inch OLED TV is also $998 on Amazon. It has HDMI 2.1 ports with 4K/120Hz support and a bright screen, but I’m more comfortable recommending LG’s model unless you really want to save a bit of money. Vizio’s debut OLED launched with various software issues, though many of them appear to have been resolved. (Disclosure: I own this TV.)
LG QNED Mini LED TV
OLED prices are not for everyone. If you want something that still looks amazing, LG’s QNED Mini LED lineup has many of the same benefits for less. Mini LED backlighting enables better contrast, more brightness, Dynamic HDR, and improved color accuracy compared to previous LG LCD TVs. (You can find more information here). Crucially for gamers, they have HDMI 2.1 ports with 120Hz support at 4K resolution.
The 65-inch model, which has webOS for streaming apps built-in, it’s currently discounted to $999.99 at Best Buy. This is $700 off its original price.
