Investing.com – French stocks closed higher on Thursday as gains across the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the index was up 0.25%, while the index gained 0.27%.
The best performers for the session were Stellantis NV (EPA:), which rose 0.58 points or 3.59% to trade at 16.80 at close. Meanwhile, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:) added 3.33% or 1.90 points to close at 59.00 and AXA SA (EPA:) added 3.24% or 0.90 points to 28.71. at the end of the negotiation.
The session’s worst performers were EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:), which fell 7.40 points or 4.24% to trade at 167.15 at close. danone SA (EPA:) was down 1.39% or 0.76 points to close at 53.90 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:) was down 1.37% or 0.94 points to 67.66.
Top performers on the SBF 120 were Sopra Steria Group SA (EPA:) which was up 7.66% to 174.20, Fnac Darty SA (EPA:) which was up 7.65% to 38.56 and Air France KLM SA (EPA:) which gained 5.25% to close at 1.78.
The worst results were nexity (EPA:) which was down 9.06% at 24.10 in late trade, orpea SA (EPA:) which lost 5.54% to settle at 2.59 and EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:) which fell 4.24% to 167.15 at the close.
Bullish stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 301 to 234, with 89 ending unchanged.
Sopra Steria Group SA (EPA:) shares rose to 52-week highs; up to 7.66% or 12.40 to 174.20.
The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% at 18.96, a new 52-week high.
Gold futures for April delivery fell 13.15, or 0.71%, to $1,828.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trade, crude oil for April delivery rose 1.52, or 2.06%, to hit $75.47 a barrel, while the April Brent contract rose 1.95 % or 1.57 to trade at $82.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% at 1.06, while EUR/GBP was unchanged 0.27% at 0.88.
US dollar index futures were up 0.13% at 104.66.
