Using binoculars with more than 10x magnification without a tripod or stable stand can lead to blurry images because humans are simply unable to hold them steady enough in their hands. Even imperceptible hand movements are exaggerated through a pair of binoculars, making it difficult to focus on a magnified distant subject.
Fujifilm's new models are based on a gimbal-mounted prism with plus and minus three degrees of electronic stabilization. They are also noticeably smaller and lighter than the company's existing ones. <a target="_blank" href="https://shopusa.fujifilm-x.com/tsx14x40-tsx14x40/”>Techno-Stabi TS-X14x40 Binoculars – weigh 1.88 pounds instead of 2.9 pounds, making it easier for birders to take a hike.
The two new models do not completely replace Fujifilm's heavier and bulkier TS-X14x40 binoculars.
