California is working to adopt Bitcoin

According to a press release sent to bitcoin Magazine, a member of the California Assembly Office, Republican Philip Chenhas named Workforce testa Santa Monica-based nonprofit that helps workers, unions, pensions, and municipalities with education-based bitcoin adoption, to work on a variety of bitcoin-related initiatives and assist with writing a project official law for an upcoming legislative session.

“As for where and how bitcoin and digital assets enter California's trajectory, much remains to be determined,” Chen said. “What is certain is that this industry is growing in adoption every day, with bitcoin serving as a global network and asset, representing a value of 2 trillion dollars. Therefore, it is important that we take a meaningful look at their role in our great state of California.”

Proof of Workforce, led by founder Dom Bei, will advise Chen's policy team, work on education and community engagement, and investigate how bitcoin can support and rebuild California's infrastructure and communities.

“The Genesis story of bitcoin has deep roots in California,” Bei commented. “A big part of that Genesis Story is an innovative network, designed to protect the time, energy and value of everyday workers. “bitcoin is non-partisan, it is uniquely Californian.”

This is not the first time Proof of Workforce has helped California governments incorporate bitcoin. Last summer, Proof of Workforce partnered with the city of Santa Monica to open an official bitcoin. <a target="_blank" href="https://www.santamonica.gov/programs/bitcoin-office”>office. Since its opening, the office has sparked “overwhelming interest,” according to the city's mayor, Lana Negrete. Santa Monica's city manager has also stated that other cities have reached out to learn more about his bitcoin efforts.

Mass adoption starts with initiatives like this. bitcoin adoption within the California government is just beginning and with the United States adopting bitcoin under President Trump, it is very likely that adoption of this asset within state government will continue for years to come.

They are doing well by helping these organizations purchase and maintain their own bitcoin keys, ensuring that everyone is adequately informed not only about bitcoin as an asset but also about bitcoin as a network. One by one, Proof of Workforce is making real changes that impact people's daily lives.
