This article is aimed at data scientists looking for a change in the company, people who are considering applying and interviewing to become data scientists in general, and those who are simply interested in the differences of a very competitive job market for several years. I will first discuss the 2020 application process and how it compares to 2024 in my personal experiences, as well as some anecdotal observations from others. Then, we'll dive into the interview process once the company accepts your application. I won't name any of the companies I applied to to keep this comment anonymous and will instead add trends derived from applications and interviews at a large number of different companies.
