Threads is rolling out its version of Bluesky's Starter Packs concept. instagram CEO Adam Mosseri About the update explains that collections of recommended profiles will be suggested when users start following topics and as part of the For You feed.
Interestingly, Threads doesn't seem to have a name for this function. But it's not the first time Threads has adopted an idea that originated on rival platform Bluesky. Custom feeds were the latest concept to come from Bluesky to the social network owned by Meta.
Bluesky is aware of how many of his features have started appearing in Threads. Last month, when the Meta platform first announced that it would have its own version of Starter Packs, the company a critique of his competitor on his own Threads account. The pair of platforms have been competing to attract disgruntled former users of x (once known as twitter). Bluesky reached users in November, while Threads reported registrations only that month.
