Black Friday won't arrive for several weeks, but holiday sales are starting to take shape at amazon, Best Buy, and other retailers. We expect to see big discounts on a number of gaming products when many of the first sales begin next week, but if you want to buy early, Seagate 2TB Storage Expansion Card for Xbox Series x/S is already matching its all-time low of $199.99 ($160 off) on amazon.com/dp/B09BJYXMDW/?tag=theverge02-20″>amazon, Best buyand x/”>Seagate Online Storefront.
While expensive, Seagate's proprietary expansion cards are a great way to expand the storage capacity of your Xbox Series They are incredibly easy to install and fast. and allows you to run games as if they were loaded on your console's internal memory. That means they're compatible with Microsoft's Quick Resume feature and prevent you from having to alternate downloads, which you'd have to do if you bought a USB-based external hard drive (those are limited to playing backwards compatible games).
Sony's approach to expandable storage, allowing PlayStation 5 owners to upgrade their console with any PS5-compatible M.2 SSD, is understandably even more appealing. But Seagate's proprietary option has been dropping in price since the introduction of Western Digital's WD_Black C50, and Seagate's 2TB model is much easier to swallow now than at its original starting price of $399.99. We hope the current price drop is a sign that deeper cuts are coming.
