amazon's latest Prime Day sales event has officially started and the deals are increasing. Samsung's The Frame TV has dropped to a record price. For the uninitiated, The Frame TV is one part television and one part artistic canvas. When not used to enjoy shows and movies, it can display artistic prints. This is the perfect box for those who want to watch TV from time to time but don't want a giant gadget that takes up the entire living room. Most visitors won't even know it's a TV unless you tell them.

We've long praised Samsung's The Frame TV. It features picture frame edges and an ultra-thin bezel to help with the illusion. The TV also mounts flat against the wall, so it can be placed virtually anywhere. There's not even a large, intractable power cord. The TV connects via a thin cable that leads to an external port receiver/hub, which in turn goes to the power outlet. This wire is small enough to easily hide behind a plant or something, but it can also be dropped behind drywall and pulled out again somewhere else.
As for the specifications of the TV, it is a 4K QLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate in TV mode. This refresh rate drops to 60Hz when in canvas mode because, well, there's not much to refresh. The matte screen also limits light reflection, improving screen visibility in both TV mode and canvas mode.
There are two caveats here. This sale is only for the 55-inch model, so larger TVs will still cost a lot of money. Additionally, the deal applies only to the white bezel version, which may not perfectly suit every consumer's aesthetic.
