Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the index rose 0.38% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session were Argen-x (EBR:), which rose 3.50% or 16.40 points to close at 485.10. Meanwhile, Building (EBR:) added 1.34% or 0.85 points to close at 64.10 and I confine SA (EBR:) rose 1.06% or 0.70 points to 66.65 in late trading.
The worst results of the session were Melexis NV (EBR:), which fell 4.60%, or 3.50 points, to close at 72.55. Solvay SA (EBR:) fell 2.04% or 0.70 points to close at 33.58 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:) fell 1.77% or 1.02 points to 56.74.
On the Brussels Stock Exchange, rising stocks outnumbered falling stocks by a ratio of 49 to 42, and 15 stocks closed unchanged.
Gold futures for December delivery rose 0.22%, or 5.80%, to $2,682.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities, crude oil futures for November delivery fell 1.91%, or 1.37%, to $70.19 a barrel, while Brent crude oil futures for December delivery fell 1.49%, or 1.11%, to $73.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.31% at 1.11, while EUR/GBP was unchanged 0.24% at 0.84.
The US dollar futures index rose 0.34% to 100.50.
