Indie developer Gardenfiend Games has just released a gorgeous plant horror game that its team describes as “hollow knight fulfills Souls of Titans.” Perennial order, which was released on September 6 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series x/S, is a 2D boss attack game that draws inspiration from Dark souls, Princess Mononokeand the artistic style of Magic: The GatheringIts protagonist is an undead knight with a carnivorous plant for a head (or perhaps a helmet?) and a stinger grafted onto one arm, and the hostile world it takes place in is overrun with plant-infested monsters. Needless to say, I downloaded it immediately.
You can play Perennial order Solo or with a friend: Offering local and online co-op, with cross-platform support. There are 15 bosses to take on, and with one-hit deathmatch, every move counts. Luckily, you'll respawn near where you died, because you'll probably do that a lot with some enemies.
I've spent a little time with Perennial order This weekend, and it's truly captivating. The setting and music are beautiful, creating a wonderfully grim atmosphere as you explore between boss fights and piece together the story through interactions with chatty non-player characters. I love a good plant horror and Perennial order It does not disappoint.
