Honor launches its foldable Magic V3 in Europe after its debut in China Earlier this summerIt's not hard to spot the V3's main feature, which is its incredibly slim profile. It's all the more surprising in a category packed with thick, bulky devices, but like so many other other Interesting foldable phones won't be sold in the US.
When folded, the Magic V3 measures 9.2mm thick. That’s not much thicker than a traditional phone like the Galaxy S24 Ultra (8.6mm) or iPhone 15 Pro (8.3mm). It’s much thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which measures 12.1mm when folded, and narrowly thinner than the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which measures 10.5mm. Impressive.
The Magic V3 offers a sizeable 6.43-inch outer display and a 7.92-inch inner display, a massive 5150mAh battery capacity, and fast charging at up to 66W wired and 50W wirelessly. There’s a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel telephoto, and a 40-megapixel ultra-wide. Everything you’d want in a high-end Android phone, foldable or not.
The V3 isn’t coming to the US, but our foldable options are getting more interesting, at least. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold comes in a drastically improved form factor compared to its predecessors, and OnePlus even released its very good Open foldable in a sleek red option. Who knows, maybe Samsung will start to feel the pressure and innovate the format it seems to have settled on. We need to dream big, people.
