Open world auto-battler RPG x.com/illuviumio” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>flood has released its latest update, patch 1.1. 0, which introduces a new gameplay feature called Leviathan Gauntlet Mode.
This mode allows players to leverage their nft collections of Illuvials, weapons, and outfits, putting them to the test in a more strategic and dynamic environment.
Along with this major update, the patch also brings a variety of bug fixes, gameplay improvements, and enhancements to the game's Overworld and Arena modes.
What is Leviathan Gauntlet Mode?
Gauntlet Leviathan mode is the latest addition to Illuvium and offers players a unique challenge where they can use their own nfts such as Illuvials, weapons, and suits, with each unit retaining their real-world power levels.
Unlike other game modes, this feature prioritizes the player's highest-level assets in the store, giving those who have invested time and resources into leveling up their collections a tactical advantage.
Units that players do not own will appear at a standardized Tier 1, while units they do own maintain their Tiers. The shop dynamically recalculates available units based on what is already on the player's board, bank, or armory, meaning that once a unit is deployed or equipped, it is excluded from the shop until it is sold or merged. This system adds a strategic layer, as players must carefully manage their assets to maximize their effectiveness in battle.
Additionally, only Tier 1 Illuvials are available in the shop, meaning higher-tier units must be fused. Weapons and suits follow the same mechanics: higher-tier versions appear first, and those already in use are not available for purchase.
Other updates in patch 1.1.0
In addition to the Leviathan Gauntlet mode, Patch 1.1.0 introduces several improvements to Illuvium's Arena and Overworld modes.
For the overworld, the patch significantly overhauls the weight of Illuvial spawns, ensuring that higher-tier Illuvials are now more common and the expected net value per cost is more balanced across all regions. Players will also find that fusion costs for Tier 5 Illuvials have been increased by 50%, while the healing cost for Resplendent Shards has been reduced to 1000.
Arena mode has introduced random matches to the Survival Arena, adding a new level of unpredictability. Additionally, players can now take on more waves, although the new limit remains unrevealed, encouraging players to explore this update for themselves.
